Come join the fun at the First Tournament to be held at the newly re-designed Circle C Disc Golf Course in Southwest Austin. This course has been overrun with players since its grand re-opening a couple of weeks ago, and everyone is raving about the new design, concrete tee pads, brand new DISCatcher Pro baskets, exceptional landscaping, solid stone benches, etc. (the list goes on and on)...

This PDGA sanctioned C-Tier event will feature two rounds of 18 holes on Saturday (June 13th) and one rount of 18 holes on Sunday (June 14th), and it will be limited to the first 72 players registered.

The first round will tee-off at 9:00 AM on Saturday, with a mandatory players' meeting at 8:30 AM.

There are lots of ways to register:

Just to be clear, even the pros will be paid in Disc Nation Bucks.

One lucky player will walk away with one of the old Circle C baskets as a door prize.

Sign up starts at 9:30 am, the round start at 10:00 am

COTO this weekend - club raffle, putting,& membership drive

Friday, May 15, 2009 (22:58:09) Waterloo Event
This weekend is the 19th Annual Capital of Texas Open (COTO) at Pease Park in Austin, hosted by Team Justice as part of the 2009 HOTT series. You can get more info on the Team Justice site http://teamjusticediscgolf.com/zenca...ex&cPath=44_50 or the pdga discussion board http://www.pdga.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=31526

Team Justice is allowing Waterloo Disc Golf Club to run a membership drive, raffle, and putting contest again this year. The raffle grand prize will be one of the old Circle C baskets that's been retrofitted with a free standing base. The putting contest should be a lot of fun too; a combination of the EDGE SkillShot and regular putting.

If you are playing COTO, come on by the Waterloo station and buy some raffle tickets, play the putting game, and please please join the club or renew your membership. If you like what has happened out at Circle C, we need your support to finish the project and to help us continue those kinds of improvements at our other courses. If you aren’t sure of your membership status, not to worry, our folks will have a full list with them.

If you aren’t playing COTO, come on down to Pease and check out Team Justice’s great assortment of discs and stamps, plus watch some really good golf; and while you are there come by our station too. It will be a fun weekend for all!

The Circle C Disc Golf Course in Austin is now open for play again!!!

While the project is not completely finished, it is close enough to get the course back in and to get players out there enjoying it. The new tee signs probably won’t be installed until next week (but they will be great), and there will be some small on-going projects out there for about the next month.

The Circle C re-opening is the culmination of years of work by Waterloo Disc Golf Club to get major improvements made on our disc golf courses. We hope, and expect, that this is just the beginning.

This project includes:

* A great partnership between Waterloo Disc Golf Club and City of Austin Parks & Recreation.
* The biggest investment by the city in disc golf since the early 1990s.
* Hundreds of volunteer hours put in by the club and its members, and over $6,000 of the club's money spent on the improvements.
* A re-designed course, now 18 holes, with short and long tee pads on many of the holes.
* Concrete tee pads and awesome tee signs on both the short and long positions.

The Club sends HUGE THANKS out to Mike Olse, Dan Mueller, Mike Graham, Josh Rippie, and all the other fantastic volunteers and workers who made this all happen; and to Disc Nation and Houck Design for their great support as well!

For questions about this project, please contact Dan Mueller at (512) 293-7592.
