Filming for Waterloo Events

Hey guys,
I'm purchasing an HD Camcorder in the near future along with equipment and editing software that will allow me to make professional looking footage for our local disc golf events. How can we get this set up? When and where can we start? Let's get Austin on the map as a Disc Golf hub in the South and a place where a National can be held.
